The Art of Safety is a thought-provoking video project that examines censorship in art through a mockumentary format. Divided into four thematic parts—violence, sexuality/nudity, politics, and religion—the project delves into the societal impulses to obscure or sanitize content deemed "unsafe." Each segment explores these themes through symbolic visuals, such as mosaic blurring and abstraction techniques, to represent the ways in which art is often censored to conform to societal norms.
By creatively directing each scene, I craft a narrative that challenges viewers to consider the impact of censorship on artistic expression and cultural dialogue. The project showcases Jiayi’s skills in conceptual storytelling, video production, and the use of visual effects to evoke complex themes of restriction and control in the art world.
